Pastor Armstrong and his wife Genice came to West Side Baptist Church in January of 1993.
The succeeding years has seen God work in many wonderful ways in sending out the Gospel both here and abroad.
The Armstrong's both grew up in Texas and began their ministry there. They have been in ministry for over 45 years.
Kenneth graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri and was pastor of 2 churches in Texas before
going to Massachusetts to found a church in West Bridgewater, where he ministered for almost 20 years before returning
to this area and finally to Emporia. The Armstrong's have 3 children - 1 daughter and 2 sons and have 12
grandchildren.
Jonathan has served at West Side since 2004. Jonathan was led to the Lord as a child in his home by his mother.
He and his wife Michele grew up in McCamey, Texas, where his father has been pastor of Bethel Baptist Church since
1981. Both Jonathan and Michele were active at Texas Avenue Baptist Church in College Station, Texas while attending
Texas A & M University, serving at various times as Song Leader, Youth Director, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Choir
Director, and Deacon. After graduating from Texas A & M, Jonathan attended Baptist Bible College and Graduate School
in Springfield, Missouri and is currently working on a Master of Divinity Degree. The Creeches enjoy homeschooling and
spending time with their six children, and consider it a privilege to have the opportunity to serve the Lord full time
in Emporia.
Youth Minister
Jon Sanders
Jon Sanders came on board as our Youth Pastor in June of 2010. He has been working
with Youth for the past 7 years and he and his wife, Jennifer, have become loved and appreciated by our youth and our church
family as they strive to lead our young men and women in living Godly lives in this culture.
